Did You Know? There are a number of skills that, if gained in the preschool years, can determine reading success in later grade school.
At Noah's Ark Christian Preschool we currently introduce a variety of learning styles to enhance alphabet learning. We use phonics programs to assist children in learning the letter sounds. We practice beginning word sounds and syllables. Writing opportunities abound. We introduce print and vocabulary in multiple formats to provide your child with the correct supports for strengthening their skills as they move into kindergarten. In 2026-2027 our preschool will be transitioning from a more traditional preschool model to Montessori-Inspired.
The distinction between Montessori Method and Montessori-Inspired differs depending on the level of adherence to Dr. Montessori’s original teachings and practices. NACP will adhere to the main principles of the Montessori Method, including prepared environment, Montessori materials, trained Montessori teachers, and uninterrupted work periods. However, NACP will also provide for the inclusion of non-Montessori elements such as Christian-based religious curriculum, music & movement, and a more limited incorporation mixed age groupings. Our trained teachers, at their discretion, will be able blend styles outside the uninterrupted work periods.
